35 Million KW Electricity from Methane gas

At 2018 Electricity Power Plant which is an Environmentalist Investment of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Generates 35 Million 110 Thousand KW from Methane Gas. The Electricity produced by plant from foundation to today is 294 million 348 thousand 647 KW.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality that shows a great importance to Renewable Energy Sources and protection of environment, recycles waste to get electricity at the Aslım Solid Waste Disposal Area.

Principal of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated importance of electricity generation by methane gas for protection of environment and for life cycle. It is stated that nearly 26 thousand of houses can get its electricity need from Aslım Waste Disposal area that does not  take waste anymore. The production will continue for more 10 years.

Principal Altay stated that, in the plant until 2018, 35 million 110 thousand KW electricity had been produced. And between September 2011- December 2018 production had been 294 million 348 thousand KW

HEAD RELEASED IS USED AT GREENHOUSE

Principal Altay stated that, among electricity generation head released is used at greenhouse and houses. He stated, ‘’ To use head realised, greenhouse with 200 metre square have been established. In this place tomato production is made. In addition, the generated heat is used for heating thermic centre’’

Principal Altay mentioned that, with support of Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation and European Union, at 1 million 720-thousand-meter square area Konya Solid Waste Disposal Management Project had been achieved. He stated ‘’ With this project which is one of the the biggest environmental investment the following buildings and plants have been achieved:  Solid waste transfer station, leachate treatment plant, administration, laboratory, workshop and auxiliary buildings’’
