IPA-II Period KASMİB Integrated Solid Waste Management Project Kick Off Meeting Was Held
The kick-off meeting of the “KASMİB Integrated Solid Waste Management Project” within the scope of the Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Programme’s 2nd Action-Waste, and that the end beneficiary is the Kastamonu Local Administrations Union was held via a video conference on the 14th of August, 2020 with the participation of Our General Director and also the Head of IPA Operating Structure of our Ministry Mr. M.Bülent ÜNCÜ, Director of Kastamonu Local Administrations Union Mr. Adnan TOT, EU Delegation to Turkey Sector Manager Mrs. Elif Ceyda ÖZDEN, the representatives from the contracting authority, and the consultant.
With the project, preventing the pollution of groundwater with waste water leachate, minimizing the environmental damages such as greenhouse gas emission by rehabilitating wild landfill sites, operating the already existing landfill with the equipment to be procured, collecting garbage, etc. the supply of necessary equipment for the works, recycling facilities to be built under the responsibility of KASMİB and the recycling of materials that can be recovered from garbage to the economy; In summary, it is planned to provide sustainable solid waste management services to the people of Kastamonu at European Union standards and to minimize the damage caused by the waste to nature and the elements that threaten public health.
